Kapka Naděje ENDOWMENT FUND
The Kapka naděje foundation fund was created based on the personal experience of its founder, Vendula Pizingerová. In November 1999, Vendula organized a benefit concert at the Prague State Opera under the name Drop of Hope, the proceeds of which were used to purchase a specialized device for the diagnosis of leukemia worth USD 90,000. After the death of her daughter, Vendula decided to continue to help and in August 2000 she founded the Kapka naděje Foundation. First, the fund supported the hematology department at the Motol hospital. Thanks to great commitment, it was possible to gain trust and with it a number of donors from institutions, companies and the general public. In 2002, the scope of the fund could thus be extended to hospitals throughout the Czech Republic.
Currently, the fund helps in more than 50 hospitals throughout the Czech Republic, and its support goes from neonatal, pediatric and oncology departments to palliative care. Together with leading doctors, experts and partners, it thus increases the chance of saving the lives of child patients with serious illnesses. Main areas of interest are hematology, oncology and very closely related child psychiatry.
Since 2000, the fund has been helping children and their families by purchasing equipment, renovating children's wards and medical offices, supporting research and educating the public. The Kapka naděje endowment fund financed the purchase of more than 500 medical devices, implemented more than 200 projects in the field of psychosocial care, and supported 3 scientific researches in the field of hematology and oncology.
In total, the Kapka naděje Foundation helped with more than 200 million crowns.
Colored pencils help where it makes sense. Unfortunately, we too have met children with cancer in our area and we know that their situation is not easy and that we need to support not only the children, but also their parents. We regularly send Kolorky to hospitals or directly to families who cooperate with Kapka nadjeje.
